Privacy Policy

Camp Hayden, Inc. (“Camp Hayden”) respects the privacy interests and preferences of our donors and website visitors. We are committed to full transparency in outlining what information we collect about donors and visitors, how it is used, and how you can opt out. The purpose of this policy is to provide you with information about the information collected through the Camp Hayden website so that you can make informed decisions about how you use the website.

Personal information we collect

Our website does not collect any personal information unless you voluntarily provide it to us. When you send us a message or apply to volunteer through our website forms, we ask for contact information such as your name, email address, and phone number. We use this information only to respond to you and to coordinate your involvement with Camp Hayden. Form submissions are emailed to us and a confirmation copy is emailed to you. Please do not include sensitive personal details (such as Social Security or ID numbers) in any website form — volunteer background checks are handled separately through a secure third-party screening service. You will always have the opportunity to opt out of future communications from us, and we do not use third-party telemarketers.

Donations

When online donations are enabled, we ask for billing information such as your billing address and payment details. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as PayPal or Stripe, which have their own privacy policies. Your billing information is not shared with any other organizations, and your card number is never stored on our website.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your name and email address are stored with our email service provider and used only to send you Camp Hayden updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Cookies and consent

When you first visit our website, a consent banner lets you accept, deny, or fine-tune the technologies we may use, grouped into categories (functional, preferences, statistics, marketing). Functional cookies are required for the site to work — for example, remembering your consent choice itself. If you deny consent, no optional cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences tool at the bottom of this page.

Embedded videos

Some pages embed videos from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set cookies unless and until you press play. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect data as described in Google’s privacy policy.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website — for example, which pages are most helpful — so we can improve it. Analytics only runs after you choose “Accept” in the consent banner: if you deny or make no choice, no analytics data is collected and no analytics cookies are set. Statistics are used in aggregate and are not used to identify you. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie preferences tool at the bottom of this page. Google’s handling of analytics data is described in Google’s privacy policy.

Advertising (Meta Pixel)

With your consent, we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our Facebook posts and outreach bring visitors to our site and to reach supporters on Facebook and Instagram. The pixel only runs after you choose “Accept” (or enable the marketing category) in the consent banner — if you deny or make no choice, it does not load and no advertising cookies are set. Meta’s handling of this data is described in Meta’s privacy policy. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie preferences tool at the bottom of this page.

Normal browsing

Standard server logs collect information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, which we use to keep the site secure and working. Our security software processes visitor IP addresses to block malicious traffic.

Links to other sites

This website contains links to external sites (such as our social media pages) that may gather personal information. Camp Hayden is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such websites.

Children

Camp Hayden only collects personally identifiable contact information about children who are referred to us as potential camp children with written parental consent. We do not share it in any other way or with any other parties.
